Adventure Week 8: Roadtrip USA

This week, campers don’t just learn about the country. They experience it.

Hit the Road: A Cross-Country Adventure Week Your Child Won’t Stop Talking About

Planning a summer your child will actually remember isn’t easy. You want more than just care.

You want experiences that feel big, exciting, and worth it.

At RAS Summer Camp, each week is designed as a themed Adventure Week — a unique, hands-on experience that gives kids something new to look forward to every time they come to camp. Families can choose one week or build a full summer, with 10 different Adventure Weeks offered throughout the season.

Roadtrip USA is one of those ten: taking kids on a cross-country adventure without ever jumping on the interstate!

This week, campers don’t just learn about the country. They experience it. Each day is a new “stop” across the U.S., from sunny California to jazzy New Orleans, all without ever leaving camp.

Kids dive into hands-on activities inspired by each destination. They might build, create, or solve challenges tied to the places they’re “visiting,” turning geography into something active and memorable instead of something they sit through.

But what really sets this week apart is what happens beneath the surface.

Throughout the week, campers are encouraged to step into leadership roles. Not in a forced way, but naturally. Helping teammates. Leading a challenge. Encouraging others.

Because a great road trip is not about the destination. It is about the people you travel with.

The Moment That Brings It All Together

At the end of the week, campers take part in a Roadtrip Showcase.

Each group creates their own “travel story” from the week. Maps, creations, highlights, and favorite moments come together into something they can share. It is part presentation, part celebration, and all theirs.

And most importantly, they’re coming home with stories. The kind you actually hear about at dinner.
