We’ll re-discover the past, meet our ancestors, and explore the incredible challenges they overcame. Who knows, we might even catch a glimpse of the future along the way!
What Are Adventure Weeks?
Adventure Weeks are week-long, themed summer camp programs designed to engage campers in exciting, hands-on experiences. Each week offers a unique theme, encouraging kids to explore new interests, tackle challenges, and develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Adventure Week Activities
Each Adventure Week is packed with tons of activities for kids to explore. From specialized outdoor adventures and games to crafts and stories. Here are some activities campers will do this summer:
Fossil Finders
Step into the shoes of real-life paleontologists and dig deep into the ancient world! Inspired by Mary Anning, the trailblazing fossil hunter, campers will uncover the secrets of prehistoric life. Through hands-on exploration, campers create their own fossils and learn the fascinating stories hidden beneath the earth’s surface.
Amelia's Mission
In this teamwork challenge inspired by Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, students pair up as pilots and navigators to reach a distant cone. Navigators give a single direction before pilots, eyes closed, attempt to walk toward the target without further help. The activity builds communication, trust, and spatial awareness—just like navigating through the unknown.
Pirate Plunder: The Great Gold Grab
Campers bring a high-energy sea battle to life while learning how symbols can represent emotions and events in art. Pirates race to collect golden treasure (balls) and return it to their ship while avoiding capture by sailors.
In this Adventure Week, campers will:
- Step into the roles of explorers, adventurers, and historical trailblazers through hands-on challenges
- Dig into the past like paleontologists and uncover ancient stories through fossil-making and discovery
- Build trust, communication, and navigation skills while flying blind in a team-based pilot mission
- Race for treasure and work together in a fast-paced pirate game that brings artistic symbolism to life
